Since 2002 Enid Shomer has edited the University of Arkansas Press Poetry Series, working closely with the poets in the editorial process. Books are selected anonymously in an open competition. 
The winner of the The Miller Williams Arkansas Poetry Prize receives $5000. 
Up to three finalists are also published each year.
